         Manufacturing Engineering Intern: Coils Department (May 2017- Present)

  • Participated in a Rapid Improvement Event to increase the overall production output of the Coils by implementing Lean Manufacturing Principles.

  • Co-led a Rapid Improvement Event to design an assembly line with a goal of improving the ergonomics, labor efficiency and productivity in the Coil production area.

  • Designed and tested a packaging solution for a new product line based on a goal of minimizing damage while shipping the desired amount of units set by the customer in the least amount of Boxes.

  • Involved in a Value Stream Analysis (VSA) event to visualize the process and develop an overall lean strategy for:

    • Reducing cost of the product by $20/unit resulting in $10 million in savings 

    • Increasing manufacturing sequence attainment by 20%

    • Improving overall Sales Inventory Accuracy Planning (SIOP) accuracy.

  • Achieved the Total Cost and Sequence Attainment targets for the VSA and presented to the Executive Leadership Board.

          Manufacturing Intern (May 2016 – August 2016)

  • Assisted the Stamping, Machining and Fabrication quality labs with inspection practices, print interpretation and audits.

  • Utilized the CMM to run capability studies on array of production parts. 

  • Worked with operators through setup, operation and inspection process of production parts in the stamping, laser, weld, form and machining departments.

  • Inspected the metallurgical properties of different welds as per customer specifications.

  • Assisted the engineering department in research and development of an in-house leak test fixture to test and debug various weld defects. 

 

    3. Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB)

           Design intern (November 2015 – February 2016)

  • Used Solidworks to make modifications to existing drawings of parts in the accelerator Ion Source and High-Voltage platform

  • Generated Engineering Change Orders based on input from line manager

     4. ARKK Engineering, MI

           Engineering Intern (May 2015 - August 2015)

  • Analyzed safety parameters of a Tire and Wheel assembly line through site inspection to design innovative solutions to existing potential hazards

  • Used Solid works to design machine parts and safety features for the assembly line and generated engineering drafts to be released for manufacturing

  • Contacted vendors to obtain price quote comparisons
